Winner of a bronze medal at the 2004 Great American Beer Festival, OBP is a pilsner brewed with orange blossom honey. The pour brings on a golden pilsner with not much carbonation and a slight head. The scent isn’t particularly overpowering but is still quite pleasant. The taste though is surprising—the honey smoothes out some of the bite of the pilsner and makes you say, “Wow, that’s good…that’s really good!” The main flavor rush happens in the front of the mouth, and the smoothness of the honey slides down the throat. It’s a really interesting twist on this style and one that works well.
