Comments:
Metropolitan Brewing is one of them, and it’s run by a husband and wife team. They brew not one, but two different lagers. Their Flywheel is a “bright lager” with a nice German attitude. If you added a “ge-” to the front of “flywheel,” I’m quite sure it would be German for “great lawnmower beer.”
This baby pours out as a nice, bright straw yellow with a huge head that leaves a considerable amount of lacing. You get a whiff of slightly effervescent hops on the nose, and the taste is a bright, light lager. It’s extremely refreshing and would definitely make my list of top lawnmower beers.
I like it when I try a new brewery, and the first beer I have of theirs I truly enjoy. Now I’m looking forward to the rest of their lineup and hope that they’ll be a solid choice when it comes to craft beer options.
