Beachside American Lager

Florida Beer Company
Melbourne, FL

Style: Lager

Jill’s Rating:
one beerone beerone beerone beerone beer   (Drinkable, but flawed)

Although this is another decent offering from Florida Beer Company, this American Lager isn’t really different or more special than any other beer. On the pour, it’s a nice looking beer: beautiful gold, a nice-sized head, and good carbonation. With a sharp, spicy scent, I’m anticipating a hoppy taste, and to that end it doesn’t disappoint. The beer almost explodes in a sparkly burst in the front of the mouth. The hops don’t make the beer incredibly bitter, but it does have a sharper taste. Then the malt tries to take over in the middle of the mouth, where you’ll get a slight creamy feel. Unfortunately, that’s where the taste dies, leaving not much for the back end feel. In fact, most of the taste is in the front end, which is a little disappointing, and overall, makes for a beer that is fairly ordinary.
