The taste is that hearty, full-bodied mouthful of toasted coffee youve come to expect from a porter adhering to the classic version of the style: thick and chewy, with loads of malt character that sticks around for a while after each sip. Although Bells doesnt spill the beans, Im guessing theyre brewing with an ale yeast, unlike those folks that brew the new-fangled, watered-down lager porters (yeah, Im talking to you, SKA Brewing).
So, a good, solid beer. But spectacular? Kind of like calling a game of horsehoes spectacular. But highly drinkable? Damn straight.
